Everyone understands that graduating from college is an emotional rollercoaster. While it is a special time to celebrate your achievements and look forward to your future, it is also a time to say goodbye to friends, a consistent routine, and everything that you have known for the past three or more years. 

What no one tells you about life after college is the emotional journey you will experience after graduation. Even when you have landed a great job working for Teach for America, found a great place to live, and can even afford to start repaying your student loans, it is not uncommon to feel lost in your professional life or as a young adult.

Post-graduation anxiety frequently affects those of us who are struggling to adjust to adulthood. It is very easy to get stuck in a rut after graduation, whether it's because you are worried about finding work or because you are unsure about your chosen profession. 
What you must remember is that you are not alone in this feeling. Many young adults experience post-graduation anxiety. If you have been feeling stressed or unsure about your objectives, here are some positive ways to deal with the anxiety that comes with finishing college.

Recognize everything that you have achieved

As soon as you graduate from college, it's all too easy to become obsessed with your long-term plans, assuming you even have any at all. Before you start worrying about where you want to be in the next five or ten years, take pride in the fact that you just graduated from college, which is a significant accomplishment in itself

Comparison is the thief of joy

One of the most important lessons you will learn after college is that everyone progresses at their own pace. Although you will have friends who accelerate in their careers more quickly than you, you mustn't compare yourself to others and their achievements. Everyone will have time to flourish. Just be patient, and the right opportunity will present itself.

Surround yourself with people you love

Don't lose touch with the important relationships you formed in college. Even if you are hundreds of miles away from everyone, don't let your most important relationships fade away. These people will always be there for you, especially when you are in need. You have shared experiences and that can go a long very way. 

Look at the present

Instead of worrying about what you want to do and who you want to be in the future, start by focusing on the here and now. live in the moment, appreciate all that is good in life and concentrate on being the best person that you can be. 

Look after your health

A healthy body and mind are the foundations of a positive outlook. While it may seem obvious, make sure you're eating healthy, getting enough exercise, and getting enough sleep. Your body will begin to tell you that it can no longer stay up all nighty partying or prosper on junk food. When you concentrate on becoming the best version of yourself—inside and out—you will feel more optimistic.
