LEAN manufacturing principles talk about time wasted getting around the business, but there is also a common sense element here. A workplace that is covered in clutter is not an efficient one. Tidying up is crucial so make sure that you implement a workplace tidying policy. 

  • Standardize Your Working Environment

You need a checklist in place to ensure that you can maximize efficiency where possible. This checklist should be in every working area of your business, and this ensures that every employee is working to the same standards. When you do this, you reduce downtime and improve the quality of your products. The way that you act in your working environment will influence your staff, so make it work!
