One year after COVID-19 pandemic for many, there has never been a more important need for quality nursing home care . A full 25% of coronavirus deaths came from nursing homes. What's interesting is that the quality of the nursing home has shown an impact on results: 4- to 5-star nursing homes had 94% lower risk than their 1-star counterparts. As restrictions start to ease up, these differences will remain important. As there is a growing population of those that will need senior living care, nursing homes will house more people than in recent memory.

Let's break down the tech side of things. Emerging technologies have led to advances in the improvement of care across the board for residents. Empowerment of seniors have allowed them to regain a sense of independence as well. Some examples of such technologies include Solo-Step, a rehabilitation harness that prevents fall-related injuries and lets users move about with more free reign. Another great example is the Kidney Project which is an artificial kidney removes the need for dialysis treatments. These technologies – and more – give people hope for a brighter future ahead.
