Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) is rapidly gaining popularity in businesses. As more operations are digitized, IDP can assist businesses in processing a variety of unstructured data from different sources. There are many categories of artificial intelligence (AI) that work together to power IDP and help businesses become more efficient. ChatGPT may be all the rage lately, but there are some good ChatGPT alternatives.

Machine learning is one of the most common forms of AI. This system is used by social media to apply interactive filters and create algorithms without being manually programmed. Deep learning is another common system that “learns” to recognize patterns and input data. These systems can predict patterns such as the weather and even make weather predictions 12 hours early.

On the more advanced end of the spectrum, expert systems can mimic human decision-making. While the systems are not self aware, they can assist humans with complex problems. By combining all three of these AI systems, IDP can contextualize information without the barriers of some less advanced systems.
