Tokyo Ghoul is a dark and violent series that explores the nature of humanity and what it means to be human. 6. Phantom: 

Phantom is a dark and tragic anime about two assassins, Zwei and Ein, hired by the mysterious organization Inferno. Zwei is a skilled assassin who has lost his memory, while Ein is a young girl with excellent piano skills. The two of them must work together to complete their missions while also trying to survive the dangerous world of Inferno. PHANTOM: The Animation is a prequel to the original PHANTOM anime. It tells how Zwei and Ein first met and became partners. It is a dark and tragic anime with beautiful animation and a haunting soundtrack like the original.
