Were you one of the 69% of patients who had a televisit in 2020? If so, then it’s highly likely that you’re looking forward to this kind of care continuing long past the pandemic. In fact, 80% of patients who have experienced telemedicine say that they would like to see it stick around for the long haul.

Telemedicine is booming and growing at a rapid rate. Currently, the telehealth industry is worth $20 billion, but it’s expected to rise to $186.5 in just the next five years. Not only that, 77% of physicians expect to see further shifts to telehealth and 90% already have experience with televisits. Even before the pandemic, in 2019, 75% of hospitals in the US were using video to connect with patients.

Through telemedicine, physicians can perform remote services such as diagnosing conditions, screening symptoms, providing mental health services, offering low-risk urgent care, and more. They can also perform non-clinical services such as fulfilling medications, providing chronic condition support, and providing physical and occupational therapies.

Telemedicine is a win-win for everyone and we’re going to see more of it in the coming years.
