Herd immunity – the holy grail of what many have been trying to achieve to keep everyone save from COVID-19. While vaccines have been rolling out at a tremendous rate to the tune of more than 50% of American adults have been vaccinated. Lately though, vaccination rates have reached a plateau and we're not on track to herd immunity – which needs to be a 70-85% vaccination population rate.
The data unveils some specific attributes of Americans who have been hesitant to get their vaccines. Those that are living in a small town, having right-leaning ideologies, or being Black/African American is not the reason why these groups are less willing to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Rather, there are underlying factors that are common in these three groups—as well as for many other segments of the American population.
