- Quantitative Aptitude
Candidates appearing for JVVNL exam for any post out of Junior Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Information Assistant, Technical Helper posts etc, should keep in mind that questions under Quantitative Aptitude section will be of elementary level. So, it is advised that a candidate must focus on topics pertaining to elementary maths.
Candidates are required to practice as many questions as possible and to get a grip on the basic concepts and fundamentals in topics like Basic Algebra, Number system, Profit and loss, Percentage, Decimal fractions, Simplification, Time and work, Surds and indices, Ratio and proportion, Problems on numbers and ages, Mensuration, Interest (Simple and Compound), Data interpretation and more. Another important point is that candidates should be able to attempt questions with speed and perform calculations faster in order to score good marks in this section, for this they must learn short-tricks and formulas along with memorizing tables at least upto 20, cubes and square upto 20 and 30 respectively.
- General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability
Apart from Quantitative Aptitude, another high scoring section in the written examination for JEN, IA, AEN and Technical helper posts is General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability. It is recommended that a candidate must put his/her time and effort in and practice questions of topics that carry high weightage such as Analogy, Sitting Arrangement, Puzzles, Order and ranking, Coding and decoding, Input and output, Syllogism, Classification etc. He/she must solve previous year JVVNL question papers to get an idea of the trend in weightage of different topics and practice as many questions possible.
- English Language
Candidates should be well versed with the basic rules and usage of the eight parts of speech in grammar such as Pronouns, Verbs, Adverbs, Preposition etc. Also, they should read good english newspapers, magazines or books regularly to improve their vocabulary and comprehensive reading skills. Questions under this section belong to topics like Spotting the error, Preposition, Antonyms and synonyms, Fill in the blanks, Active/Passive voice, Direct and indirect speech, Word substitution and more.
- General Knowledge and Everyday Science
This section can save your time, and you can score high marks in this section by having proper knowledge of the history, Geography, Culture and Polity of the state of Rajasthan and India along with neighbouring countries. Candidates should be aware of the latest developments and current events pertaining to the state of Rajasthan and of national importance. A candidate should also be acquainted with the basic concepts of topics in class 10th level science.
- General Hindi
An elementary level knowledge of hindi grammar along with fluency in writing and comprehensive reading is enough for a candidate to score well in this section.
Some General Tips to Remember
- Start giving JVVNL mock tests regularly, if you have completed the majority of topics. Also, you should give sectional quizzes and practice tests to improve your speed and accuracy, along with strengthening the areas where you are weak.
- Solve Previous year papers of different exams. This will give you an idea of expected questions and trends.
- Make notes of short-tricks and formulas separately. Keep in mind to jot down notes in Static G.K, so that you can revise them later.
- Get a hold on basic fundamental concepts of individual topics in Quantitative Aptitude.
