As we teach adulthood and finally are able to start a life of our own; there are a lot of things we must learn and get used to. Becoming an adult can be a challenge, and a lot of young 20-somethings struggle in the first few years to juggle the responsibilities of adulthood

Owning a house can be a daunting prospect, and knowing everything we need to live in a house is also a big challenge. There are a lot items we can accumulate over time, but some that we should have from day one.

One of the items we should all have at home is a first aid kit. This will be full of important medicines, wound care innovations, and tools to patch us up and keep us healthy. If you aren’t sure what should go in a first aid kit, we are here to show you today.

The first item that is a must have in your first aid kit is bandages. Bandages are important when we injure ourselves because they can cover the wound and protect it from infections. You don’t need to get fancy bandages for your first aid kit, simply go for the most run of the mill pharmacy brand and you’ll be fine.

Safety pins

Safety pins can be used for a few different things in a first aid kit: from securing a bandage together to securing a makeshift sling. These small tools might not seem necessary at first, but you’ll know when you need them and it is always good to have them ready.

A syringe

Every first aid kit should have a couple of syringes. A syringe can have a few important purposes for your body. The first of those is to clean out a wound. By filling a syringe with salty water, you can squirt this directly into a cut or scrape and wash away any dirt and debris. The other use for a syringe is to get rid of earwax. A buildup of earwax can be dangerous, and you can press a syringe of warm water into your ear to rid the ear of excess wax and restore your hearing.

Scissors are needed to cut plasters down to size, cut bandages, and tape to make your life much easier. Be sure to keep a pair in there ready for when you need it.

Rubbing alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is another way to quickly clean a wound and ensure that no bacteria can enter the body. This is a more painful method than salty water, but may be more effective.

Painkillers such as paracetamol and ibuprofen are important to keep in the house at all times. When you suffer an injury or you feel unwell, painkillers can make the world of difference and allow you to continue your day without the pain weighing you down. Be sure to get good quality painkillers to keep yourself healthy and happy.

Assembling a simple first aid kit won’t take long and will make the world of difference to you when you need it!
