COVID-19 is taking the spotlight off of traditional work and starting to shine it onto remote work as since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly half of the American workforce has started to work remotely. By 2025, it is projected by experts that 70% of the workforce will be working remotely at least 5 days each month.
But even before the COVID-19 pandemic shook the world, remote work was on the rise. Before the pandemic, 5.3% of employees worked from home full time and 29% of workers had the option to work at least part-time from home. There are a number of different things that are propelling remote work, in addition to COVID-19 making a traditional workplace nearly impossible to run. These range from advancements in technology making remote work better for employers and employees to the convenience of being able to work from home.
