As the weather gets nicer, it's reasonable to want to be out in the sun more. Regarding health and beauty, do you feel like it's healthier to have that nice base tan? Do you feel like you are more attractive when you have some color from the sun? For most people, the answer is yes. However, the health and safety matters concerning sun on your skin are more complicated than just going outside for eight hours at a time in the blazing sun. You have to be smart about your skin health in the amount of sun that makes the most sense in context.

For proof of this, just think about people who get badly sunburned. That is not good for anyone! So, you know that you like the feeling of warm sun on your skin and the tan that comes with it. But where is the balance when it comes to skin health? And tangentially, the same question applies to beauty standards. First of all, sunscreen is the answer to most questions about scan health. Once you've matched the right type of sunscreen to the amount of sun you are getting and the environmental factors surrounding you, you should be able to get that tan you want and the safety you need.

There are plenty of health benefits to getting sun that makes sense. But, also, you should be careful comparing yourself to photos of other people who have tans. Photoshop can create alternate realities that are very deliberate and misleading.

Sunscreen Is the Answer To Most Questions

Though the sun gives us life, it can also burn us. Because of this, using sun protection in the form of sunscreen is a necessity for every day of your life that you plan on going outside. Gentle sunscreens will at least keep out harmful UV rays. Stronger sunscreen will prevent a lot of the damage that comes from over-tanned skin.

Health Benefits of the Sun

Despite the damage that it can cause from overexposure, the sun has lots of health benefits. For example, spending the right amount of time out on a clear day will provide you with necessary vitamin D. Additionally, being out in the sun typically means people are more active outside, and that movement is good for both the heart and the soul. Happier people are more beautiful, so all of these factors are connected.

Be Careful About Comparing Yourself To Photos

It is important to note that if you are trying to look and feel like photographs of people that you see on various social media accounts, you need to be careful. It is very easy to airbrush tans on people, and you can overdo it trying to get the same look naturally that they get artificially.
