Social Distancing – Not Social Isolation

We’ve all been told to social distance, but not everyone knows what that means or how it helps. Some people are getting the wrong message about social distancing – that it means you can’t talk to anyone or leave your house at all. That’s just not the case. Humans are social creatures by nature, and getting social interaction is crucial. You just have to be smarter about how to prevent isolation during a pandemic.

Some of the things you can do include going for a walk or a hike, calling people on the telephone, playing with your kids in the yard, and even sitting on your front porch or driveway and talking to people as they pass by. It’s important to find ways to continue to get exercise and socialize throughout the pandemic. You don’t have to go through this alone!
