Survivor Series is one of the longest-running Pay Per Views in WWE history, it is an annual event and is a part of the Big four PPVs of WWE.
The first-ever Survivor series took place way back in 1987, The Elimination Tag Team match between RAW and SmackDown is the feature event of the PPV.
In last year’s Raw vs SmackDown match, In last year’s bizarre show Raw was supposed to defeat SmackDown 8-0 but after some comedic events, they won 7-1.
The first-ever inter-brand match at Survivor Series took place back in 2005, SmackDown was the winners back then.
In the latest wrestling news, another one of WWE’s popular brands has been brought into the fold, NXT is set to compete against Raw and SmackDown at Survivor series.
Although no clear indications of the type of match are given it is speculated that a multi-way elimination match seems to be the most probable match.
Another factor could be the titles, as a match between champions is highly popular, we could see some NXT titles involved. The involvement of NXT in the PPV will definitely benefit its brand value and further increase the popularity of the NXT superstars.
Although not many titles would be on the line at Survivor Series, Brock Lesnar would have to compete for the WWE title but anything except that seems rather unlikely.
We could see matches like Bayley vs Becky Lynch vs Shayna Blazer or something like Nakamura vs Styles vs Strong. Triple threat matches seem to be the best option out there.
Survivor Series is scheduled to take place on the 24th of November in Rosemont, Illinois. The event will be broadcasted live on the WWE network, although the match between NXT vs RAW vs SmackDown is yet not official, all the promos point towards the same.
Brand vs Brand matches have always been a hit amongst the WWE fans, Survivor series matches always bring a lot of excitement to the table and there is always something or the other on the line. Involving one more brand into the mix will certainly increase the hype and would also provide a lot more experiments.
Survivor Series will air just 24 hours after NXTs biggest event of the year, NXT takeOver: WarGames III, all of the top NXT superstars and all champions will be competing at TakeOver and Survivor series if NXT will be involved, it would be really interesting to see how NXT and WWE would manage the superstars to fight in two big events in such a short time span.
The Tagline for this year\s Survivor Series is “Who Owns The Night?” and with NXT now almost certainly involved in the show it would be interesting to see how the NXT superstars compete with the big boys at WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown.
Whatever type the matches are set to be and whoever wins the night, it would certainly be entertaining for the audience to watch NXT vs RAW vs SmackDown.
