While getting married is likely one of the most exciting times of your life, planning your wedding is also likely to be one of the most stressful times in your life. From figuring out the date and creating the guest list to sending out invitations, finding the dress, picking the rings, planning a honeymoon, getting a caterer, finding the perfect venue and everything else, there’s a lot that can cause anyone an untold amount of stress when it comes to planning a wedding. So to help ensure that you’re able to make it through this time without losing your cool, here are three tips to help reduce the stress you’re bound to feel while planning your wedding.

Keep Yourself Organized

One of the best things you can do for yourself while trying to plan your wedding is to keep yourself organized. When things get disorganized, that’s when most people start to feel a lot of pressure and stress about planning their weddings. But when you have things well organized and are able to stay on top of what you’re doing and need to be doing next, your knowledge and preparation can help eliminate your stress. According to Kim Forrest, a contributor to WeddingWire.com, you should try to use things like budget calculators, checklists, and calendars to make sure you’ve got all your bases covered.

Find Ways To Delegate

As was mentioned above, there are a ton of things to take care of before you’re able to hold your wedding. For most people, it’s going to be nearly impossible to get everything done on your own without getting any help. So to lighten your own load, Lea Rose Emery, a contributor to Brides.com, advises that you try to find ways to delegate whenever you can. Even just giving one or two tasks to your mom, maid of honor, bridesmaids, or your fiance can help you keep your head above water and drastically reduce your stress levels.

Take Care Of Yourself Mentally And Physically

Amid all the stress and pressure you’re feeling as you plan your wedding, it’s important that you’re able to disconnect every once in a while and check in with yourself to see how you’re doing physically and emotionally. According to MarthaStewartWedding.com, try to make it a habit to do things that will help you take care of your body and mind, like working out regularly and meditating. By doing things that will help you relax you and be beneficial to your mind and body, you’ll be able to keep things in perspective and maintain a handle on your stress.

If you’re worried about how you’ll handle the stress that comes with planning your wedding, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you find ways to manage it.
