With so much going on in everyday life, finding time to go to the yoga studio can be difficult. But, I did some research and found yoga apps so you can practice yoga anywhere, anytime. Practically, all you need to do is to grab your yoga mat and set it in your living room, backyard or in your favorite park if you want. With a quick yoga break, you will re-energize yourself and bring some peace into your day!

As there are a lot of apps, I had to find a way to filter good from bad before picking my top 3. Out of all the resources I discovered, I found this list to be most helpful.

Top Apps For Yoga Practice

So here are my top 3 picks from the list.

Learn Yoga from the experts with Daily Yoga

Daily Yoga is a great choice with a variety of video lessons to help you get started with learning the basic yoga poses. You start by setting your experience level and the app finds a yoga lesson that fits your needs. The video lessons are guided by yoga instructors and the fact they are professionally edited is a nice extra touch. Also, a big advantage is you can cast from your phone to larger screen for a bit more convenience. Incorporate yoga into your everyday routine by following a personalized lesson plan from an online meditation guide. And if you need extra help, you can find tips and tricks from other members of the Daily Yoga community. Overall, this one is a great choice, especially if you’re a first-timer.

Short Yoga sessions with Asana Rebel

Do you want to improve your flexibility or increase your strength? Find the best yoga sessions for achieving your goals with Asana Rebel. Expertly designed yoga lessons are good for maximizing results when you are always on the go and don’t have a lot of free time. That’s where the possibility to set your lesson duration and practice a short and effective yoga session comes in handy. And the fact you don’t need to go to the gym to get fit is great. Instead, you can exercise anytime, anywhere and build up your core muscles and flexibility. Detailed video lessons make it easy to follow yoga movements, regardless of your experience level. So, this is another great one for beginners, but more advanced yoga practitioners might find it useful as well.

Find Yoga that fits your lifestyle with Down Dog

I was surprised to find out this one to be praised by the likes of Wall Street Journal, Buzzfeed, and Best Products! Naturally, I had to test it out to see if it’s true. And I can say it does live up to the hype. With a vast selection of yoga sessions, Down Dog makes it easy to find one that fits your lifestyle. Set your lesson length, difficulty level, flow and more! The real strength of this app doesn’t come from some ground-breaking features, but simply the way how the entire app is all around well polished. Video lessons are highly detailed with excellent tips and pointers, making it easy to follow the movements. Last but not least, the features are available offline, so you can practice yoga everywhere you go!

So there you go. I still don’t think apps can substitute real lessons, but they definitely are getting better and you can definitely learn a lot. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if, at one point, apps become more used than the real-life lessons. They are definitely getting better with each day and as it looks now, they aren’t planning to stop. Which, in the end, is great for us users.
