In film, eyewear is often used as a storytelling device to help us better understand the character. Just like we use accessories to express ourselves, so too do the characters we see up on the big screen. From Holly Golightly to Harry Potter, iconic eyewear has always been a film staple. 

Perhaps one of the most memorable pair of specs takes us back to 1983 with the release of Risky Business starring Tom Cruise. Featured simply as a product placement campaign to advertise Ray-Bans, the usage of the frames began a trend that still lasts to this day. Just a few years later, Tom Cruise was yet again the face of another pair of iconic glasses, the Ray-Ban Aviators. Worn by Maverick in Top Gun, the timeless, no nonsense shades were a perfect fit for the unforgettable character.
