Do you love feeling your pulse racing through your body? If you want a bit more excitement and thrills from your exercise, you might want to consider taking up an extreme sport. They will certainly get the adrenaline pumping and, you never know, you might become a die-hard adrenaline junkie! We’ve rounded up some of the best extreme sports that will help fuel your new sports addiction!
Bungee Jumping
This is probably the most popular extreme sport as it is often the most accessible. You will find specialist jump areas around the world, some of which are in some really scenic locations. Not that you’ll have much chance to take in the view while you jump; in fact, you’ll probably have your eyes tightly closed! If you do want to jump off surrounded by spectacular scenery, you should head to Zambia or New Zealand, which are both known for beautiful jump sites. You can still jump in your home country, though, there’s just no guarantee that the view will be as good!
Downhill Mountain Biking
If you have already been impressed by the videos of mountain bikers on the Monster Energy extreme sport, then you might be intrigued to learn more about downhill mountain biking. This is slightly harder than the standard biking, but it is a whole lot more fun! To do it, you will need to use a bike that has full suspension so that you can zoom down hills without worrying about rocks and stones. Once you have enough experience, you can start joining races and riding down courses that feature lots of obstacles.
Zorbing
Originally invented in New Zealand, zorbing has now taken over the world, and you can find many parks that offer this sport in lots of countries. You basically just roll down a hill in a huge plastic ball! You can either go it alone or zorb together with a friend. Don’t worry about falling into your friend as you’re rolling – you will be securely fitted into the zorb!
Skydiving
Another very popular extreme sport, skydiving is often done by people who are fundraising for charity. Most skydivers jump from around 10,000 ft, so you need a seriously good head for heights to do this! But building up the courage will certainly be worth it. Anyone can tandem skydive with a professional, and many clubs train people up so that they can eventually jump on their own.
Ice Swimming
If you love spending time in your local pool, you might want to travel up north to experience ice swimming! Northern Europe and the northern American states all have areas where people can take a dip in lakes that don’t get above 5 degrees. You don’t have to swim too far – in fact, the International Ice Swimming Association says you should only swim one mile in these cold conditions.
Getting the blood pumping is seriously good for your health, and it is certainly full of fun and excitement! Which extreme sport will you try?
