4 Simple Ways To Be More Earth Friendly

When it comes to treating the environment with respect most people probably have a few areas which they could improve in.  In this modern world it can be a challenge to be completely earth friendly since we have to get around from place to place, and sometimes have no other option but to do something a little less than green.

What is important, however, isn’t being perfectly earth-conscious, but making an effort to be more earth conscious.  No one is perfect, so you shouldn’t feel like you should have to be.  Here are some of the best ways that you can make small steps to be more earth friendly.

Use Reusable Products

When possible, use reusable products.  This means using things that aren’t disposable and create unnecessary waste and pollution.  Try starting with your grocery bags. Buy a few that you like and remember to keep them in the trunk of your car so that you have them on hand when you do your shopping.

There are several other “greener” ways to do things around the home as well. For example, instead of using paper towels try to use rags for spills which you can wash and use again. You can also use glass jars to store food in instead of throwing them away.

Recycle As Much As You Can

Try to recycle everything that you can in order to reduce the amount of waste that you create.  By recycling you ensure that you are contributing less to pollution and ever-growing landfills of tons and tons of waste.

Try to educate yourself on what is and isn’t recyclable. You would be surprised at how much you can recycle instead of throw of away.

Take Public Transportation

One of the biggest negative impacts on the Earth is from cars.  Try to reduce this by carpooling whenever you can or taking the bus or subway.  If everyone did this even just once a week, pollution would be reduced enormously across the globe.

Apart from the environmental impact, taking public transportation can also often get you somewhere faster and cheaper depending on the route and whether it is an express which can go in the faster lane avoiding traffic.

Use Natural Products

Many everyday products contain harmful chemicals which negatively impact the planet.  When possible, try to opt for something all natural.  In some cases, you can even create all natural DIY versions yourself.  For example, many people use vinegar as a cleaning product rather than chemical sprays.

Other options include using essential oils or plants.  Try doing a little research to see what you might like to try. You may be surprised at how creative you can get!
