Traveling to Seattle this Summer

Summer in Seattle? Lucky you – experience the Emerald City, the jewel of the Pacific Northwest. There are too many things to list that need to be seen, but some of the must see summer attractions in Seattle are…

Capitol Hill Block Party

The Capitol Hill Block Party is a 3-day, July 21- 23,  music and arts festival that celebrates Seattle’s rich and iconic music scene. CHBP takes over six city blocks for the duration of the festival in the colorful heart of this Seattle neighborhood. Showcasing over 100 local and national artists this event is accessible to people of all ages, although some stages are 21+. Seattle’s famous food trucks compliment the Capitol Hill restaurants and bars to ensure that all your non musical needs are met. Conveniently accessible with the newly opened Link Light Rail station as well as by the Seattle Metro bus service- this music festival is not to be missed. This vibrant party in one of Seattle’s most vibrant neighborhoods will delight everyone from casual to hardcore music lovers and is a uniquely Seattle experience that is definitely a must see experience.

Safeco Field

Since the Inaugural Game on July 15, 1999, Safeco Field has become known across the country as one of the most beautiful and accessible settings for baseball. Built with amazing views of the picturesque Seattle skyline, experience the breathtaking beauty of the sun setting over Puget Sound as you appreciate America’s Pastime. Gourmet food, fun for the entire family, and boasting one of the largest video screens in the world, Safeco Field has so much more to offer than baseball, but if you are a fan than you are in for real treat. Sit in the King’s Court when Felix Hernandez, the King himself, pitches and experience the electric moments when he strikes out the side. Be amazed at the flawless fielding of Robinson Canoe or behold a massive home run belted to left field by Nelson Cruz. Summer in Seattle is not complete without attending a Seattle Mariners baseball game at Safeco Field, an experience unequalled in Major League Baseball.

Seafair

A Seattle tradition since 1950, Seafair offers a wonderful assortment of sights, sounds, tastes and action. Marvel at the racing hydros on the water as they compete for the Seafair Cup, feast on delicious food, and lie down on the grass and watch the aerial ballet that is the Blue Angels perform with jaw-dropping precision. Participate in the Torchlight Parade, or run in the Seattle Rock N’ Roll Marathon. Many would say that Seafair is summer in Seattle. Events range all summer but the culmination of the Seafair Festival is Seafair Weekend (August 04- August 06). Blue skies, majestic Mount Rainier, and a pleasant breeze blowing off Lake Washington invariable await you this magical weekend as the shores of Lake Washington become packed with events for children of all ages. This unofficial Seattle holiday is not to be missed with events, music, and food lasting throughout the summer- crescendoing with Seafair Weekend.
