Data breaches are hot topics in the news lately, perhaps because they happen so frequently, go undetected for so long, and cause so much damage to a company’s reputation and bottom line.  Chances are you’ve already been hacked, yet most people think they are the exception to the rule.  The first step in making information more secure is to admit there’s a security problem.

It’s not easy to admit you’re vulnerable.  Data breaches are a scary business, and admitting they could happen to you is the first step in protecting yourself.  There are a lot of things you can do to limit the potential damage a data breach could cause your company.  Early detection is key to limiting the damage, so monitoring the traffic into and out of your secured areas can be a great first line of defense.
