These days the average adult will use four different devices to reach news sources. From smartphones to tablets to desktops, we expect news content to be everywhere. But even in our increasingly mobile society, paper newspapers are just as popular as ever.
In 2012, digital-only circulation revenue grew by 275% and at first glance, that number seems to offset revenue from print sources. However, in the same year, revenue from bundled digital and print subscriptions grew by 499%. Still, even when we are all glued to our smartphones, more than 137 million Americans read a print newspaper in the typical week and count it as their main news source.
