It’s almost that time of year again: summer time. The season of barbeques, bee stings, and Sun-In. But while we wait out this winter thaw and watch the trees finally bud, it’s time to set the sunscreen record straight. So before you break out the jorts and flip flops, sit back while we debunk these myths and common misconceptions that go along with sun screen.
Unzip that fanny pack and pull out your convenient key chain sunscreen. What’s the SPF on that? 20? 30? Well even high SPF sunscreens like those need to be layered on thickly. Spray sunscreens may help get those hard to reach areas for when your crush isn’t around for you to ask them to get your back, but they go on thinly and aren’t the ideal choice for sun protection. If you ladies out there plan on wearing make-up through the summer, remember that sunscreen always goes on first. Before the wails of clogged pores and sweaty faces get hurled my way, ask yourself: would you rather have melty foundation or skin cancer?
