College students are always looking for ways to make their experience more bearable. Free food, student discounts, cooking ramen in a coffee maker, and so forth are only the tip of the iceberg of what they’ll do. In this economy where money is tight for everyone and jobs aren’t easy to find, getting a head start in the market is an edge that graduates everywhere are looking to cash in on.
One of the best pieces of advice anyone can give a student is to learn how to study. Seems easy huh? Well college studying is a lot different from high school studying. Depending on how much the professor relies on the textbook, your notes usually become the best place to review; the textbook is just auxilliary.
Another thing to do is talk to and engage with your professors. If they know you personally and you’ve built a relationship with them then they are more likely to write you a letter of recommendation when you need it. Especially if you are going to be taking multiple classes with them during your college career, getting to know them will make it easier to ask for help when you need it and talk to them if you have any problems.
