But thanks to fundraising platforms like Indegogo and Kickstarter, finding donors to help you with your big idea is easier than ever. Crowdfunding is one of the most popular money making processes for startups and for many it’s been the key ingredient to their success.

Anything can be crowdfunded (provided that it’s legitimate), from disaster relief fundraising, to movie making, to research.
Crowdfunding is about more than just making money. People love finding causes and projects that they can get behind. Generating a loyal and supportive following as well as exposure is just as valuable as the funds.
