Why You Should Teach Children to Code [Infographic]

There are so many great reasons you should teach your children to code. Learning programming empowers kids and gives them tools to express themselves in really awesome ways! The ability to communicate with machines is probably the closest thing to superpowers that can be taught. Learning coding is as easy as learning a language—and like learning a language, it’s best done young.

According to Bill Gates, “Learning to write programs stretches your mind, and helps you think better, creates a way of thinking about things that I think is helpful in all domains.” Public school first graders in Estonia are learning to code. Go figure that Estonia is also the birthplace of Skype, and it’s the first European country with DSL in every school.

We need more programmers! Over the next ten years, programming will be one of the fastest growing occupations. The mean salary for computer and mathematical occupations is $80,180, far exceeding the mean salary for all occupations.
