It’s amazing how many people choose to traipse off to Wilkinsons or WHSmith to buy things they can actually make for themselves – and their kids – quite easily.  Whether you’re an old hand at crafting things or jittery around glue guns, sometimes the simplest of homemade projects can involve nothing more complicated than a working printer. Save yourself time and money by using printing out the following kid- and in some cases adult-friendly things!

Labels

Labels are a back-to-school staple, especially for younger schoolchildren who find themselves having to keep track of all their new school things for the first time. Help prevent your kids’ books and stationary from getting mixed up or misplaced by printing out some handy labels! You can even let your children pick out their favourite label colour or design to give their things an added personal touch. And if you’ve got some spare, you can always use them for Christmas or birthdays.

Cards

Are you making an invitation? Wishing someone happy birthday? Saying thank you, or congratulations, or sorry? Then make your well-wishes totally individual by printing out personalised cards! If you’re not a budding card designer, there are still lots of styles to choose from, far quirkier and more individualised than the ones on the shelves of Paperchase. You’ll be able to cater to your kids’ tastes without any hassle!

Games

spidermanLots of websites offer printouts for standard paper-and-pencil games (word puzzles, mazes, and so forth). Or you could print out pictures to be coloured in – staple a stack of them together and you’ll even have a colouring book on the cheap! Bear all of this in mind the next time your kids are stuck inside the house on a rainy day!

Wrapping Paper

Personalised wrapping paper makes a lovely extra touch for birthday or Christmas presents. And if you and your kids are fans of scrapbooking or decorating photo albums, even more reason to print out wrapping paper to your style specifications.

Decorations

If you’re looking to jazz up your childrens’ bedrooms or play area without breaking the bank, printing out their favourite pictures and framing them could be a nice way to do it. Or you could design a collage of all their favourite things, or look into printing out some lovely 3D pictures.
