Every couple wants their wedding to exude their own personal flavor. They simply do not want to be lost in a sea of strikingly similar nuptial affairs. You and your soon-to-be spouse can be certain that everyone remembers your wedding for a lifetime.

Choose a Theme
Do you and your sweetheart love to read? Name each of the tables after a favorite novel. If fall is your favorite season, give guests miniature pies or bottles of maple syrup for favors. Be sure to keep the theme tasteful. Let's say that you choose summer as your theme. Cute cocktail glasses, beach towels as favors and barbecued food for cocktail hour are all suitable ideas. However, inviting all of the guests to come in bathing suits can lessen the classiness of the wedding.

Special Ceremony Touches
Ask your wedding officiant if you're permitted to write your own vows. Even in the most traditional of weddings, room for personalization exists. Light a memory candle on the altar for those who have passed, pick out a special ketubah or recite the “Prayer of the Couple” at a full Catholic Mass. Couples who are not having religious wedding ceremonies can choose poetry or selections from a novel that are based on love.

Host a Hospitality Hour
Guests sometimes complain about long stretches of time in between the church and cocktail hour. In order to keep guests happy and nourished, set up a hospitality hour at the hotel where your guests are staying. Rent out a conference room, and have someone set the room up with beverages and snacks. Include a note in the invitations or on the church programs that lets guests know where to go before cocktail hour. If you aren't blocking rooms at a hotel or if no such room is available, price out some local restaurants for such an event. Continue the party vibe into the next morning by providing a farewell brunch for guests.

Transportation
Many weddings feature open bars, so guests worry about how they will get back to the hotel after the reception. Offer a shuttle bus to drive guests back and forth. Another option is to hire a limousine so all of your guests can arrive in style. Check out unique transportation options for you and your significant other as well. You could ride to the ceremony and/or reception site in a Cinderella style carriage or carry out your fall theme in an old fashioned horse and buggy.

Extra Special Touches
Bring all of that flavor and flair of yours into the reception. Reception halls usually offer so many packages including Venetian hours, ice cream sundae bars, uplighting to illuminate the walls, extra stations at cocktail hour and so forth. You could hire an outside company, such as an ice cream truck or a hot dog cart, to arrive as your guests are leaving. Ask your DJ if the company offers any extras too. A live singer during dinner delights guests, and a photobooth keeps individuals of all ages entertained throughout the night.

It's entirely possible to have plenty of traditional elements without having a cookie cutter wedding. It's all about achieving balance. Having every single one of these options might be a bit over the top. Sit down with your significant other and figure a few of these ideas that really fit with the style and tone you want for your wedding. The most important thing to remember is to make sure that the wedding stays true to you as a couple.
