No two wedding bands are the same. Some rock, some roll, and some can't even carry a tune. Wedding band disasters happen more often than not and they come in all different forms. The following list is meant to remind any bride and groom that has ever had their special day interrupted by a bum band that it's important to just laugh it off and have a good time.

1. Wedding Band No Show

The ceremony is over, the nerves have subsided, and both the wedding party and guests are ready to have a good time; there's only one problem: the band is missing in action. Maybe they're stuck in traffic or maybe they just plain forgot. If there's a signed contract with the band, then relax in knowing costs will be refunded. Just because the reception is quieter than an empty library doesn't mean the guests can't make some noise.

2. Last Minute Overbooking

So the big day is planned out to the last detail. The flowers are being delivered and the cake has arrived safe and sound. But, the band manager calls morning of to inform the bride and groom that the band's been overbooked. Believe it or not, this type of thing happens on a regular basis. While the band manager is still on the phone, have him or her try and scramble to find another band. It's surprising how many connections the wedding band community has, especially when there's an angry bride on the phone.

3. Too Much To Drink

As the reception goes on later and later into the night, the band becomes consistently worse and worse. It's complimentary to treat the members of the band as guests. Therefore, they are going to have a drink or two. But when one or two drinks turns into alcoholics anonymous, it becomes one of those infamous wedding band disasters. Don't fret; just have the band take five until they can walk a straight line back to the stage.

4. Wrong Dance Song

The bride and groom are locked in embrace and ready to dance to their first song. As the band plays the initial chords, the newlyweds realize the song is completely wrong. Granted it's still a slow song, just go with the flow. It's amazing how often this happens at weddings. The band will make up for it by entertaining guests the rest of the night.

5. Not Such A Great Band After All

While on the hunt for the perfect band, the bride and groom come across the best wedding band that has ever played. Their music is flawless and they know every song in the book. But, when it really counts, it turns out the band can't play a lick. This is one of those wedding band disasters where the bride and groom are just going to have to rely on the open bar to entertain their guests.

Wedding bands come and go, but the wedding itself is a memory that will last for a lifetime. Try to find the best band out there, but don't let a mediocre wedding band ruin the big day. Get on the dance floor, have a great time, and dance like you just don't care.
