Paywalls are a growing trend among newspapers and other online publishers to increase revenue and secure reader loyalty. Over three hundred online newspapers in the US have some form of paywall in place, and that number is expected to continue growing in the coming months. Paywalls come with many benefits as well as downfalls, so it’s up to the discretion of the paper to decide whether or not to implement one.
