Reports have recently noted that The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, starring Robin Williams and Mila Kunis was filmed this past weekend near John and Jay Street in Brooklyn. This drama revolves around a man deciding what to do during the final days of his life.

A wealth of both movies and television shows are being filmed all around New York every day. For instance, popular shows like Boardwalk Empire and CSI: NY are being shot throughout the month of October.

The Godfather

The Godfather is one of the most popular and infamous gangster movies of all time. Filmed in 1972 and starring amazing actors like Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, the streets of New York City became a huge feature in many scenes throughout the movie. Popular landmarks such as New York Supreme Court, Fifth Avenue, and Staten Island all have their places in this film that make it one of the best of all time.

Ghostbusters

Who ya gonna call? Ghost Busters! This iconic flick shot in 1984 throughout New York City starred popular film stars Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd among others as paranormal investigators who try to save the city from ghostly encounters. Popular shooting locations include Central Park and the New York Public Library.

Spiderman

Spiderman, one of comic books’ most popular superheroes, had all three of its movies shot in the heart of New York City. As Spiderman makes his way throughout the city, movie watchers can catch glimpses of Queens, Downtown, and Forest Hills. A pivotal point in the second movie takes place at the bow bridge in Central Park.

Wall Street

Greed never sounded so good for stock trader Gordon Gekko, played by Michael Douglas. In this gripping tale, young trader Bud Fox, played by Charlie Sheen, learns why insider trading can eventually lead to one’s downfall and how greed can turn a good person evil. Gekko’s office shows off beautiful parts of New York City, including the New York Stock Exchange and the Roosevelt Hotel.

Goodfellas

Martin Scorsese’s hit 1990’s mobster drama follows the life of infamous gangster Henry Hill and his team of mobsters that he works with to pull off robberies and murders. Popular film stars Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci all lend themselves to roles in this iconic film that eventually leads to the telling of the 1978 Lufthansa Heist. Notorious filming locations in the movie include Hawaii Kai Lounge in Manhattan, which was the scene of Joe Pesci’s famous “funny guy” routine, and Thirty Second Street in Queens, where young Henry Hill’s apartment is located when he first learns the ways of the gangster.
