Mark Zuckerberg posted this comment on Sunday, August 19 7:00 PM PST via his Facebook account:
I updated my grilling app, iGrill, today and it now has Facebook integration that lets you see what other people are grilling right now around the world. Awesome. I’m making a Fred’s steak.

After that comment, the iGrill site was inundated with visitors, causing the site to go down for 2 hours.
We were caught totally off guard by Mark Zuckerberg’s post and the immediate influx of traffic,” Chris Allen, CEO, iDevices said. “We had quietly released this update for our users earlier this month and were waiting for it to gain traction, but this obviously gives us a huge head start, thus a quick add on of servers and bandwidth was needed today!” said Allen, “We are excited to see how this unfolds, but I would like to dispel the rumors that iGrill or iDevices received any investment from Mr. Zuckerberg to date, although we would welcome the opportunity to work with him, this is not something that has occurred yet.
iGrill’s App update now lets users view maps of other people grilling around the world through Facebook, sharing information with all their friends and subscribers, as in Zuckerberg’s case. The iGrill is the world’s first wireless cooking thermometer for iPod touch, iPhone and iPad via a long-range Bluetooth® (up to 200 feet) and App-enabled connection. iGrill turns your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad into your own personal sous-chef, enabling you to multitask between your grill or oven and guests with the peace of mind that your food is perfectly cooked, at target temperature and safe for consumption. www.igrillinc.com.
Priced at $79.99, iGrill is available immediately through www.igrillinc.com and Apple Stores across North America. iGrill is offering free domestic shipping (up to $12.00) when using the code ZUCK during checkout.
