Look Who’s Coming Back To Town – Krispy Kreme

Great news Northern California – Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is returning to Roseville !

The North Carolina-based chain that retrenched after expanding quite rapidly a decade ago is going to set up shop in its old digs at Fairway Drive and Pleasant Grove Boulevard.

The 4,090-square-foot spot within the Kohl’s-anchored shopping center has been vacant since Krispy Kreme closed that store.

Krispy Kreme closed its Northern California stores in 2007, after entering Sacramento in 2000, and California the year before.

A Krispy Kreme franchisee called Hot Glazed Enchantment announced Tuesday that it will open the store at 10317 Fairway Drive on Sept. 20. Its management team will hold a job fair Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the store site. The franchise expects to hire up to 70 people for full- and part-time jobs, a news release said.

“I think it’s great,” Karen Garner, economic development analyst for the city of Roseville. “It’s fun to have them back.”

Krispy Kreme won’t have to do much to the site, given that no other business has occupied it since the doughnut shop shuttered, she noted.

“I’ve already gotten calls from our citizens, who are excited to have them back,” Garner said. “It speaks to the strength of the Roseville market.”
