Regret Installing Mac OS X Lion Server? You Can Now Disable It

I wrote up a Review of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Server a few weeks ago. As stated, I prefer to work on Server versus Client. In case you dove into Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Server and have decided that it is not for you, you can actually disable it.

In order to disable Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Server follow these simple steps:

1. Open Server.app
2. Click on your server name under ‘Hardware’. See the Image Below for an example.

1. Click on ‘Services’
2. Uncheck ‘Dedicate system resources to server services’. You will see the image below.

1. Once you restart Server will be disabled and it will effectively be a client version.

Just a note, I have not tried this myself as I use my server for development. But for those who do not wish to use Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Server this would be a great way to disable Lion Server without doing a fresh re-install of Lion.
