Looks like Loopt has beat the others to the punch and figured out how to get Facebook Places properly integrated into their geo-location offering.
True, Loopt has had this functionality for about a month now, we wrote about it here, but the user experience wasn't quite there – now, after a few tweaks and code enhancements Loopt has released an update to their iApp that promises to bridge the gap between Loopt and Facebook Places.

Don't count out Loopt – even though Foursquare and Gowalla may have the headlines, Loopt has a pretty solid offering.
