Google Voice has been in beta for quite a while. And Google beta's are usually a widely sought after prize that involves being on that A-list. Well not really, but you have to have an invite to be one of the cool kids. As of today, GV is free and open to all US citizens to register, no invite required.
There are many benefits to having a Google Voice account especially if you are a business owner, or entrepreneur.
