The Dark Knight is like a runaway train, no other movie at the moment can keep up with its popularity. The Batman sequel has now been No. 1 at the box office for the fourth straight week, the movie is now the third biggest movie of all time.
The Dark Knight managed to rake in $26 million beating Pineapple Express, which could only manage $22 in ticket sales.
The Batman sequel has now raked in $441.5 million, just behind second biggest movie Star Wars at $461. The Dark Knight still has a way to go to knock Titanic of the top spot with $600.8 million.
Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros. Has said “It has taken on a life of its own.” He also added “Older audiences who normally don’t rush out to see movies or maybe only see two, three movies a year are coming out in large numbers.”
Even though The Dark Knight is doing better than any of us would have imaged, many analysts believe that it will not be able to knock Titanic of the top spot.
Did you expect this movie to do so well?
