Superstar and former Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson will perform at the White House on February 10, 2010.
She will be singing at an event hosted by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama called “In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement.” The concert celebrates Black History month and focuses on music that captures the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement. The performances will happen in the White House’s East Room, and President Obama will make opening remarks at the concert. Other participants include Natalie Cole, Bob Dylan, John Legend, John Mellencamp, Smokey Robinson, Seal, the Blind Boys of Alabama, the Howard University Choir, and Morgan Freeman and Queen Latifah will serve as emcees.
Jennifer has been very busy lately. This Sunday she will perform with American Idol Carrie Underwood and a few other special guests in a tribute to Michael Jackson at the 52nd Grammy Awards. She is currently working on her sophomore album and is also a new mom to David Daniel Otunga, Jr. Last month, Billboard released their Decade End and Year End charts, and Jennifer’s name appeared on both lists.
