The zombie apocalypse is not yet upon us, but doomsday could be just around the corner. What happens when the world as we know it comes to an end? Survival is key, but it goes beyond filling your basement with canned goods and ammo.

Water is a precious resource and gaining access to it could mean as much as moving. Rainfall barrels are another option and roof runoff is easy to collect.

Farming is a sustainable way to produce key resources after the grocery store is no more. Not only can meat be gained from raising livestock, but eggs, milk, and fur and feathers as well.

Nurturing your old world skills is another way to raise chances of survival. Experience with first aid, martial arts, or firearms can mean the difference between life and death. The professions most valuable in a post-apocalyptic world? Medical, engineering, military, farming and fishing.
