According to data that is reported by law enforcement officials in Texas to the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the U.S. Department of Justice on the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) and also from the Texas Department of Safety, overall crime in the state has fallen 6.4 percent between 2010 and 2011. This figure is comprised of data reported by both police departments and county sheriff offices throughout the entire state of Texas.
