Next generation comics on the iPad

With the proliferation of tablet computers, where will comics go next? Earlier this year, we reviewed some “standard” comic readers for the iPad which are still great but we’re seeing more interactivity being developed.  This time we’re taking a look at some of next generation of comic/animation hybrids.

Siri, Meet Google Voice Search

Coming from a serious Apple fan as I am – this is significant.

Google’s updated Search app for #iOS has finally been approved by Apple (there’s a story behind the story as to why it took so long for this app to get approved…)

After testing it for a while today, I must say – Siri you’ve got a strong competitor.

What’s also cool, is the same Knowledge Graph technology that powers this mobile app, is also the engine behind the voice search functionality built into the Chrome Browser.

Hands On: PenGo BrushPen

One of my favorite, albeit relatively brief, experiences at San Diego Comic Con last July was talking to the team at PenGo Creative about about their product, the PenGo BrushPen.  We spent some time talking about the product, various challenges, apps for iPads and Androids and I walked away feeling very positive about the people I talked to and about the product they were selling.

A couple weeks back, I received a BrushPen for review and have been using it with my iPad 2 for various drawing tasks.  I really like the feel of the pen and prefer it over others I’ve tried.
