This week, Facebook tells me, marks the tenth anniversary of my A-Level results. Depressing thoughts, much like hangovers, take days to dissipate these days but it has nudged my rusty noggin into remembering my fast and loose decisions with respect to University. My course preferences were as much based on whim as they were interest and my choice of institution was largely based on how nice the prospectus was.
Knowing now how vital these decisions are, I’d like to think that if I were to do it again I’d spend far greater energy in choosing the right course.
With such a bright spotlight shining on Sport in the UK since the 2012 Olympics, there has never been such [...]
I’m a HUGE fan of empowerment. I’m a huge fan of positive role models. And, being a father of a middle school daugher, I even more of a bigger fan of women doing positive things that dramatically shift society.
That’s a big statement, but the following video lives up to that hype.

This particular story has some personal significance to me because my son played on the Lugnuts little league team so of course it had to be added to our Visuals of the Day stream…
Story via The Daily Dot
Daniel Norris is a pitcher for the Lansing Lugnuts, the class-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Pitching to Western Michigan shortstop David Gonzalez in a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning, Norris saw a fastball get whipped right back up the middle of the diamond.
BTW – this made ESPN SportsCenter and was #4 on the Top 10 list. Glad Norris is OK.
