For years, the media has deemed emailing a thing of the past, or that “email is dead.” Yet, 126.7 trillion emails will be sent every year by 2022, and 58% of people check their email first thing in morning – even before browsing social media, news sites, or making a Google search about what’s on their mind. So what’s the verdict? Is electronic mail really dead?
Of course not. It’s just changing. And you'll still need to find key email contacts.
In our current climate, only 3 companies handle 82% of all email access: Apple Mail, Google “Gmail,”, and Microsoft Outlook. With regard to use, GenZ spends more time online than any other generation. 58% use their email several times a day, 23% check their email once per day, and so on.
With such high use of email, why don’t businesses respond quickly? 1 in 3 GenX and Boomers expect a response in less than a hour, but most companies take at 42-hours to respond to consumer inquiries.
