If we all want to do our bit for the environment, we really need to start with our homes. There are a few sources in this world that are causing massive increases in global warming. One of them is our homes, the other is all of the carbon footprint planes and cars, as well as other sources of transport, and factories. We’re pumping so many gases into our air that the world just can’t cope with, hence why alarming changes are happening as we speak. Just the other week, a million tons of ice melted in Greenland, which is exactly what shouldn’t be happening. It means animals are losing their habitats and dying out, and without realising, the food chain is slowly shrinking, meaning we’re now a total ticking time bomb. So, now is the time for all of us to step up, and to do our bit for the world by changing how we run our homes. There are so many little tricks you could try, so have a go at one of these and see what you think!

Grow Your Own

This is one that we really think a lot of you could get into. It doesn’t matter if you have a small garden, or a big plot of land. If you have a small garden, you could simply have your own vegetable and fruit patch, and perhaps a chicken pen. Growing your own is supporting the environment by not supporting all of the emissions used to process all of this food, and eventually get it onto the shelves in the store. If you have a bigger plot of land, you could think about rearing your own animals. Hay bales, specific foods, and equipment such as pens are really all that you need. As long as you’re caring for the animals medically, and treating them right until it comes to the time where you need to use them, it’s a pretty simple job.

Reduce Emissions

Emissions are the main cause for global warming at the minute, and the electricity you’re using, and the gas you’re using, is all contributing to that. Electricity in particular is being used more and more, especially by families. So why not think about getting solar panels installed, and create your own energy. They work off absorbing the sunlight and converting it into energy, but it doesn’t have to be a sunny day to do so. It will pick the rays that are coming through the clouds, the ones we can’t even see. Not only will this save you a ton of money, but it will also work wonders for the environment!

Say No To Plastic

Plastic is a definite no no at the minute. So many people are jumping onboard with this one, and it’s basically doing all that you can to make plastic use minimal, and finding alternatives wherever you can. A lot of big brands are jumping onboard with this one as well, which is something we love. So think about the amount of plastic you’re using now, and how you might be able to reduce it.
