All The Anime Shows You Need To Add To Your Binge List
How is your Netflix list looking at the minute? If you are starting to come to the end of all the shows you’ve lined up for yourself, you are probably wondering what else there is left to watch. Well, I’ve got a great suggestion – why not start working your way through some Anime TV shows? Anime is the name given to Japanese cartoons. But don’t worry; just because they are cartoons doesn’t mean that they are all completely childish. Sure, some are suitable for kids, but actually most of them are aimed at a more mature audience.
Ready to dive headfirst into some Japanese cartoon culture? Here are all the anime shows you need to add to your binge list.
Dragon Ball Z
In Dragon Ball Z, you follow the adventures of Goku, who early on learns that he actually comes from another planet. Then, along with the Z warriors, it is his mission to defend the world from evil from a lot of different aliens from space. Dragon Ball Z has become extremely popular in the West and, as a result, has millions of fans around the world, not just in Japan. It also has its very own card game as well that many of its fans enjoy playing. If you don’t want to play the game, you might still like to collect the cards – some of them are now very valuable!
Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex
You might have heard of Ghost In The Shell recently as Hollywood remade it into a film with Scarlett Johansson. Unfortunately, though, the film came up against some strong criticism for its apparent whitewashing of the original Asian characters. If you want to stay away from the criticism, it’s worth checking out the original TV series. It’s set in the near future where robotic enhancements of the body are just an everyday aspect of life.
The anime Bleach is something else that is worthy of a spot on your to-binge list. It tells the story of Kurosaki Ichigo, a high school student who is extremely different to all his classmates. After he is involved in an accident in a woods, he gets the power to see ghosts. After this, he becomes a soul reaper and needs to start his training so that he can become a good fit for his new role. This is the perfect anime if you love movies that are a bit spooky, such as The Sixth Sense.
Why not return to your childhood and watch some Pokemon?! The phenomenon that is Pokemon must be the most popular anime ever as it has been a huge hit in the USA and Britain as well as Japan. Even though it is aimed at children, most of the stories in the TV series will be entertaining enough for all ages. You never know; it might persuade you to start trading the cards again!
Hopefully, one of the above shows has tickled your fancy. If not, there are plenty more anime series to check out!
