Do you know how to tell if someone is having a stroke? There’s the FAST rule where you’re supposed to look at their face, their arms, their speech, and then get them to the hospital in time. There’s also a shortcut trick many people use of having the person stick out their tongue to see if it is even. If you even so much as suspect a stroke get to the nearest emergency room immediately.
But there’s more you can do to ensure a person’s survival in case of a stroke when you plan ahead. Sure, nobody wants to plan to have a stroke or to plan to be around someone else who is having a stroke. But a little bit of planning ahead could save a life. If you suspect stroke, get the person to a Comprehensive Stroke Center. This will significantly increase their chances of survival as well as improve the outcomes afterward.
