Having the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom is a blessing. You are given this rare chance to spend quality time with your children and raise them in a hands-on way, something many parents don’t have the flexibility to do. But this full-time job child-rearing doesn’t translate to a paycheck. Luckily there are numerous ways to make money from home while you watch the kids. Check out these handful of money-making gigs that’ll help you and the spouse pay the bills and take care of the family.

Get Surveyed for Cash

Did you know you can get paid to have an opinion? Online surveys, evaluating websites, serving as an online juror—there’s a whole world out there that values your opinion and will pay you for it. To get paid to take surveys, head to the polling sites like Harris Poll Online and SurveyClub. You can also make up to $30 an hour for testing out websites on UserTesting.com. Or if law and order has always been an interest of yours, you can serve as an online juror at EJury.com. The site is a platform for attorneys to practice with online mock jurors before they go to trial and pays $10 a case via PayPal. The best part of getting paid to be surveyed is that you can do it all from a computer in the comfort of your home with little effort on your end!

Be a Mommy Blogger

Living the life of a mom is a unique, yet relatable experience that you can share with community of moms. Find your interest or passion—be it how to raise your children, cooking or throwing a party, and write about it! You can become a “mommy blogger” and make money doing it by finding sponsors. For example, say you promote a certain recipe or beauty product, see if you can get a brand to sponsor your post, aka pay you for mentioning them on your blog; you’ll be surprised to see just how many brands want to gain visibility by word-of-mouth from a genuine source.

Run Your Own Direct Selling Business

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and like to run your own show, you may be cut out for the direct-selling business. Companies like Stella & Dot and Amway allow you to sell products on your own accord and build your own customer network. With Stella & Dot, you call the shots and sell jewelry and accessories at trunk shows and online. With each sale, you receive up to 35% commission with additional opportunities to recruit others to the team and earn even more. Through Amway, the process is similar. Amway provides the proper training and tools you need to sell nutrition, beauty and health products and you work on your own time from home to make the sale, gaining a margin of the retail profits and incentives to grow your team and network.

Become a Virtual Assistant

It’s already built into your job description as a mom to help others. Why not capitalize on this innate skill? You can make someone’s life a little easier while getting paid for it by signing up to be a virtual personal assistant. You can join Fancy Hands and provide service to those who need assistance in their day-to-day. Tasks include anything from scheduling appointments to doing research on the latest trends—all of which you can do from home with an internet connection and a phone.

Tutor Students

As a parent, you’ve likely had to brush up on those math and grammar skills to get the kids through their homework. Make the most of your reignited knowledge and offer to tutor other children who may need the same guidance. Grassroots marketing can be highly effective in this realm. Post some flyers up on the school bulletin boards for other parents to see that you’re available to tutor their kids. You get the extra cash and their kids get the better grade.

Provide Freelance Services

Freelancing can be a very profitable career path and ultra-fitting for moms who need to work from home. Perhaps you have graphic design capabilities or a journalism background. You can find freelance work on sites like Upwork.com or Freelancewriting.com and pick up jobs that fit in your personal skillset and schedule.

There are so many different ways to make money when you’re a stay-at-home mom. From taking surveys and selling products to tutoring and writing, make that extra cash while still upholding your top priority of taking care of the kids.
