To be afraid is to be alive, or so they say. There is no better way of facing your fears than to embark upon a thrill seeking activity. If you’re scared of heights, try bungee jumping. If you’re fearful of water, why not attempt a scuba dive? Of course, it’s a lot easier said than done, simply to take part in these activities if you have a deep set phobia. However, if you can confront your fears, your life can be enhanced. Of the 30.5% of people in the world that are scared of spiders, the majority of those that chose to face their phobia overcame it within a 24 hour period. Take a look at these activities to help you overcome your fears.

For A Phobia Of Flying… Why Not Try Riding A Roller Coaster?

Some of the most adrenaline inducing roller coasters are those that are designed so that the riders are sat in the prone position like the Manta in Orlando. This enables the passenger, once strapped in, to experience the sensation of flight when whizzing around on the steel tracks at up to 60 mph. With loops, drops, and turns, you’ll soon banish those fears of turbulence and the oxygen mask dropping into your lap.

For A Phobia Of Filth… Why Not Try Supercross?

There aren’t many muddier sports than getting on a trail bike and launching it around a dirt filled race track. If you get a chance to head to any of the Monster Energy Cup meets, you’ll get to witness first hand the thrill of the race, the speed and the skill involved. You could even venture down to your local track and have a go yourself, learning how to control your bike and emerging at the end of your session covered head to toe in thick mud.

For A Phobia Of Confined Spaces… Why Not Try Caving?

Venturing down into the depths of the belly of the Earth can be daunting at the best of times. If you’re claustrophobic, it can feel like a mammoth undertaking. However, with the appropriate accompanying expert and kit, you can head underground and experience the wonder of stalagmites, underground lakes and walk in the footsteps of explorers, pirates or rustlers from centuries ago. You’ll be squeezing through tunnels and caverns in no time.

For A Phobia Of Thunder… Why Not Go Storm Chasing?

There are so many storm chasing tours available that you could soon see yourself relishing an experience straight from the classic 1996 movie Twister. This would be the epitome of facing your fear, teaming up with an expert guide and a whole host of technology to record meteorological data when chasing a hurricane or two. There’s no more adrenaline inducing activity than battling the elements.

Facing your fears can be one of the scariest experiences of your life. However, if you are willing to take on the challenge, you will be able to reap the rewards. With expert guidance, you can overcome your phobias and feel proud that you tackled your fears head on.
