We know we need to lose weight, but sometimes it’s difficult to get off the couch and do something about it. After a busy day at work or spending time caring for the family, the idea of exercise will quickly go out of the window. The way we eat doesn’t help our expanding waste line, and those of us with busy lifestyles are going to forego a healthy meal for something that can quickly be heated in the microwave.
The trouble is, we aren’t going to lose any weight unless we make an effort. Thankfully, there are ways we can do this without it seeming like a chore. So be you lazy, unmotivated or too tired after a stressful day, these are some of the ways you can get your body back into shape and have some fun in the process.
Don’t go it alone
In whatever activity you take part in from this list, don’t think you have to go it alone. Enlist your family and friends in taking part with you as this will only add to your enjoyment. Having somebody to talk to and have a laugh with is going to give you added incentive to get out of the house and take part in something active but fun.
Dig those dancing shoes out of the closet and head for your local leisure center where you are sure to find a dance class that suits you. Bokwa, Batuka, and Zumba are all going to give you a healthy workout, letting you burn off those calories as you take part in an extensive workout routine set to pulse-pounding music.
Workout at home
If you can’t bear the idea of leaving your home, there is no reason why you can’t keep fit in front of the tv. Modern games consoles come equipped with motion sensor technologies, letting you use your body as the games controller. From dance games to sporting simulations, you can keep fit from the comfort of your living room.
Relive your childhood
Was there a sport you particularly enjoyed as a child? There is no reason why you shouldn’t go back to it as an adult so go online and see what sports activities are local to you. You may hate the idea of football, but there are some other ways to play. Have a look at these inflatable foot darts and soccer darts which can be played with your hands or your feet, giving a twist to the traditional game.
Even if you were put off sport as a child, there is no reason why you can’t give it another go. Relive activities such as hula hooping which can help you burn off 600 calories an hour, or buy yourself a trampoline. You may have tried skating as a kid and spent more time on your backside, but that’s part of the fun as you practice. Hey, even head off to the local playground with your children or play tag in the garden. You don’t have to grow up too quickly.
