War On Drugs: Where The Money Really Comes From [Infographic]

Have you ever wondered where the War on Drugs came from or whether it is even winnable? The fact of the matter is the War on Drugs was designed to be an unwinnable war that raged on for decades and took out civil liberties and incarcerate citizens.

In 1994, John Ehrlichman admitted the War on Drugs was designed to alienate minorities and hippies during the Nixon administration. Since then incarcerations rates have skyrocketed. In 1996 reporter Gary Webb uncovered evidence that linked the surge in cocaine use in the United States to the Nicaraguan Contra war. It turned out the CIA worked with smugglers to bring cocaine into the United States to sell on the streets in order to fund the Contra rebels.
