If you want to be healthy, have energy, and just feel better about yourself, you need to get some physical activity into each and every day, even if it’s just taking the stairs at work. For some people, getting fitness fit into each day can seem like a huge chore. People live such busy lives these days, so it can seem like you just don’t have time to get fit.
You can come up with any excuse in the book, but the truth is that if you want to get fit you’ll make time for fitness. You can find ways to work exercise into your life on a daily basis. Here are some tips for working fitness into your day, even when it seems like you couldn’t possibly find time.
Get Out And Play
If you have kids, or a dog, or you enjoy sports, these are all great ways to add a little more fitness into your life. Get out and play tag with your kids, take your dog for a walk or a run, or shoot some hoops in your driveway. These things all count as physical activity.
Even doing something like joining a bowling league or golfing on a regular basis can count as exercise (just don’t take the cart). If you enjoy sports, get out and do them, every chance you get.
Get out and walk. It could be taking your dog for a walk, or it could be parking farther across the lot at work and walking. Take the stairs. Walk to the store when you don’t need to purchase more than one bag of stuff.
You could also go for a bike ride. This is another great full body working, with an emphasis on your legs.
Get Some Equipment At Home
If you don’t have time to go to the gym, bring the gym home to you. There are plenty of great fitness machines and equipment out there, at all different prices. Consider getting some items for your home so you can get some of the gym experience without even leaving your own house.
You can simply get some weights to work with, or you can go out and get a machine that allows you to do all sorts of exercises. It’s up to you, and how much room you have in your home.
One really great way to make sure you get some physical activity into every day is to challenge yourself. Make goals, and work to stick with them. Keep a workout journal to remind yourself how important fitness is.
Another great challenge is to have a friend to partner with that can help you stay challenged and motivated. You’ll push each other and help each other stay accountable for your fitness needs.
